- Gary Jules (born March 19, 1969 in Fresno, California as Gary Jules Aguirre) is an American singer-songwriter, best known for his cover of Tears for Fears' third single 'Mad World', which he recorded together with friend Michael Andrews for the cult film Donnie Darko. It became the UK Christmas Number One single of 2003.

'Mad World' is a 1982 song by the British band Tears for Fears. Written by Roland Orzabal and sung by bassist Curt Smith, it was the band's third single release and first chart hit, reaching number three on the UK Singles Chart in November 1982. Both 'Mad World' and its B-side, 'Ideas as Opiates', appeared on the band's debut LP The Hurting (1983). This single was also the band's first.
So, more than one year ago I (6884) really wanted to pass in my sets that infamous bootleg that P.K. is playing in all his lives since I don't know when - and since it's really impossible to find that anywhere, we needed to make our own version, which is strongly inspired by-, but not a mere copy of-, the aforementioned bootleg. We now decided to put this here as a Christmas gift - a bit late, sure, but hopefully still appreciated.And, in the end, we have bootlegged a bootleg..
